Jan 31, 2012: A new year, another tournament and more medals
At the ITTF Global Cadet Challenge that took place last week in St. Juan, Puerto Rico, Elite TTC’s Anqi Luo helped to secure more honours and medals for Canada and North America. She received a Girls Team Silver and a Girls Doubles Bronze. In doing so, she also made headline news at the ITTF blog. What a way for Anqi to kick start the Year of the Dragon by achieving such outstanding results.

Oct 3, 2011: Anqi Luo's participation in the 2011 Pan Am Games
Table Tennis Canada has officially announced the selection list of national team members to participate in the 2011 Pan Am Games. Anqi Luo of Elite Table Tennis Training Centre, has been selected to be a member of the National Team. Currently, under the Women’s Team Coach Junya Chen, Anqi Luo and the other selected members of the National Team, Ms Mo Zhang and Ms Shirley Fu, are undergoing some intensive training in Canmore, Alberta. The Team will be departing Alberta on October 7th to Mexico to take part in one of the most important competition of the year - The 2011 Pan Am Games.

Aug 22, 2011: ITTF 2011 Canadian Junior & Cadet Open
The dynamic trio of Hongtao, Anqi and Max from Elite TTC made headlines again last week at the ITTF 2011 Canadian Junior & Cadet Open in Vancouver. All three made the podium in their respective singles event, the best showing for the Canadian Junior Team in this tournament.

    Junior Boys Doubles Gold
Anqi Luo:
    Cadet Girls Single Silver
    Junior Girls Double Bronze
Max Xia:
    Cadet Boys Single Bronze

June 25, 2011:
Happy Family 2011 Tournament
The special "2011 Happy Family Tournament" was held in the Elite club house. After a full round of singles/doubles round robin matches, the following are the eventual winners.
First Place team: Haward Xu / David Xu
Second Place team: Phil Hanoudi / Andrew Handoui
Third Place team: Chi Seng Tong / Raquel Tong
Congratulations to all the participants. It was great fun for all.

June 14, 2011:
Mississauga 2010 Female Athlete of Year
The young table tennis sensation Anqi Luo had another honor bestowed upon her by the Mississauga Sports Council in naming her co-winner Amateur Female Athlete for 2010. Anqi was presented with the award at the Sports Council’s 37th annual dinner on June 9. This annual event honors those athletes, coaches and volunteers for their exceptional achievements and contributions to sports in Mississauga.
At age 14, Anqi is probably one of the youngest and the very first to have received this top honor playing table tennis in the Council’s 37 year history.

A Canadian First
Our centre’s Anqi Luo secured a place in history a week ago in Spain for being the first Canadian junior reaching the semi-final of a world event, the Spanish Junior Open singles competition. What an amazing feat for such a young and gifted player.

2011 North American Championships
Our centre’s Hongtao Chen and Anqi Luo kept their successful pace over the weekend at the N. American Championship held in our city of Mississauga. Hongtao won a Men’s Single Bronze and a Jr Boys Single Silver. Anqi did equally well in winning a Jr Girls Single Bronze and a Cadet Girls Single Silver.
